Red White & U

Red White & U Freshman Admitted Student Event – May 26, 27, & 28, 2020

May is coming to an end and New Student Orientation is about to begin in a few short weeks. With this in mind, we have created a three-day, online event with a variety of sessions celebrating your admission to the University of Utah, showcasing the amazing opportunities that await you, and providing the information you are looking for to make a smooth transition to the U this fall!

Session Descriptions

Next Steps to the U

Join representatives from the offices of Admissions, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Orientation & Transition, and Housing & Residential Education to learn why the U is a great choice for the next chapter in your educational journey, opportunities that await you outside the classroom, and your next steps to finalize your transition to the U this fall. Come prepared with questions, because we want you to leave with the comfort of knowing the U is right for you!

Next Steps Live Chat

Sometimes there are more questions than time allows. Join us for a Q&A afterparty and ask your questions in a live chat room environment. Representatives from the offices in the Next Steps session will be available to ensure you don’t leave with unanswered questions.

Next Steps to the U (Take 2)

Maybe you missed the live session or maybe you still have questions after participating earlier. Don’t worry. We are doing a special rebroadcast of the Next Steps session. While this is not a live session, we will have staff who will be available throughout the broadcast to speak with you in real-time in our chat room.

Academic Exploration Sessions

Join us to explore the opportunities that exist in different colleges and programs at the U. Representatives from the different colleges and programs will provide an overview of the majors offered in each college, why you should consider their college, opportunities outside the classroom, what each college is doing to support the success of students like you, and what students are doing once they graduate from the colleges. There is also an opportunity for you to ask questions through a live chat during the session. Participate in one session or attend all of them, the choice is yours.

The Inside Scoop

You know the U offers high caliber academic opportunities, but to get the full U experience you have to do more than just go to class and study.  Join our University Ambassadors as they share their experiences and ways that you can get the absolute most out of your time at the University of Utah. Hear about ways to get involved, explore the great Utah outdoors and Salt Lake City, travel the world, find your community, make a change in the world around you, and get valuable experiences to help you move on to the next stage of your life after college. This session will include an opportunity for you to ask questions of these experts in maximizing the student experience.

The Inside Scoop Live Chat

We anticipate the Inside Scoop session to be a popular one and there will be many questions that cannot be answered during the event. Continue the conversation with our University Ambassadors and don’t be afraid to ask them the questions you may not ask around your parents.

The Inside Scoop (Take 2)

The biggest questions we get asked have to do with what it’s like to be a student at the U and we want everyone to know how great it is. We are rebroadcasting our earlier Inside Scoop session and offering a live chat with our University Ambassadors during the broadcast. Whether you joined us the first time or just tuning in, this session will be all about the student experience.
